Steve Derksen

President/Owner P. App, AACI

Steve is the owner of True North Appraisal Inc. which continues to grow from its origins as Derksen Appraisal and to be an honourable leader in the appraisal industry.  There is not much we are scared of and not much we haven’t done (including colonies to campgrounds, legalized grow ops to churches, mills to multi-family…you get the idea).

Steve lives in the country with his wife and three children.  He loves to travel with his family and friends, and really loves to travel for tennis as he is a huge tennis fan.

Steve has an easygoing, personable, and common sense approach to life and work.  Life experience of growing up in farm country helps round out the formal education side. He is a fully accredited appraiser holding the highest level P. App, AACI.  He also holds a B. Comm (Hons) degree from the University of Manitoba.

Steve focuses on commercial and agricultural properties of all types.

Paul Warkentin

P. App, CRA

Paul joined the appraisal industry in 2017 and has completed his P. App, CRA designation as a professional appraiser. Before beginning his career in the appraisal industry, Paul accumulated 15+ years of experience in the customer service industry with a financial institution, a start-up financial service business, and a local golf course. He also has a background in residential construction, which has added to his understanding and skills in the market.

Growing up near Steinbach, Paul currently resides in the area with his wife and children, and loves spending his free time with his family. He can also be found enjoying local golf courses and coaching volleyball.

Paul is a designated member with his P. App, CRA and has a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Providence University College. He is now working toeards his AACI designation.

Paul focuses on the commercial, agricultural, and multi-family properties.

Char Wiebe

Office Manager

Charlotte is the organization behind the organization. She runs the office of True North Appraisal and makes sure it sings smoothly.

Charlotte was a Real Estate Paralegal for over 20 years before joining our team in 2018 as Office Manager.  Char and her husband grew up in Mitchell and love it so much they have never left. She enjoys chasing her two sons around watching them play hockey and baseball, motocross track or more recently, bull riding arenas.  When away from the rink, or ball diamonds, you can find her ATVing in the summer or downhill skiing in the winter.

Lindsay Warkentin

Assistant

Lindsay previously worked as a Constituency Assistant before officially joining our team in 2021 as an office assistant. Growing up in Mitchell, Lindsay now lives in rural Hanover, and loves spending her free time with friends and family. She also enjoys fishing, camping, and playing pond hockey, as well as singing with her local worship team. Having volunteered in various capacities over the years, Lindsay has a passion for helping others, from building homes with international mission groups to mentoring local youth.

Brandy Enns

P. App, CRA

Brandy is an accredited P. App, CRA (Professional Appraiser, Certified Residential Appraiser), focusing on residential and multi-family appraisals. Prior to becoming an appraiser she was involved in the real estate and property management industry, as well as a background in lending administration.

Brandy grew up in Steinbach and currently resides in the area with her husband and children. Brandy enjoys spending free time with her family, travelling and spending time outdoors in the summertime.

Brandy achieved her P. App, CRA designation and holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Manitoba.

Brendan Derksen

AIC Candidate Member

Brendan became an AIC Candidate in early 2022 and has joined True North Appraisal as a residential appraiser under his mentor Steve Derksen (B. Comm Hons, AACI, P. App). Prior to that Brendan worked in the event industry, as well as residential construction gaining experience in customer service while also growing his knowledge of the real estate market.

Brendan was born and raised in the Niverville area and still currently resides just outside of Niverville. He enjoys seeing new places and meeting new people which is what first sparked his interest in appraising. He also loves spending time outdoors and you can catch him in his free time biking around trails or playing sports with friends and family.

Brendan is currently an AIC Candidate member and is working on completing his bachelor’s degree at the University of Manitoba while also working toward his AACI designation.
